Lanaudière, Laurentians

At the Crossroads

Between the urban excitement of the outskirts of the St. Lawrence and the detachment of the great uninhabited spaces of the North, these two regions cover a vast contrasted and colorful territory, composed of mountains and plains, thousands of lakes and immense forests. Close to Montreal, on the shores of Lake of Deux-Montagnes, the Mohawks of Kanesatake carry on their sedentary traditions, while the Atikamekws of Manawan maintain their nomadic heritage in the heart of the wilderness.
