"It's salty"
SALAWEG processes and markets seaweed products that benefit the Wolastoqiyik Wahsipekuk First Nation, as well as the Gesgapegiag First Nation and Gespeg First Nation. Our name means “it’s salty” in the Mi’kmaq language. SALAWEG makes products from the sugar kelp seaweed plant, turning it into mixed spices and condiments (sea relish and tartar mix). Our company has a positive impact on all three communities, including job creation and positive visibility, to name just two aspects.
