Authentic intercultural relations
The Senneterre Native Friendship Centre: Shabogamak Camp has been in existence since 1978 and provides a variety of programs and services to urban Indigenous communities. Its mission is to improve members’ quality of life, maintain cultures and values, and build bridges between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. The Centre has a shop where traditional Indigenous crafts are showcased. The new Shabogamak II Camp is located on the shores of Parent Lake, set against an enchanting backdrop, and is the ideal place to enjoy cultural activities. It is available for rent. Tourism development is ongoing.
