Côte-Nord Société Mamuk Nutashkuan

The Société Mamuk de Nutashkuan is a non-profit organization founded in 2022 by three young members of the Innu community deeply engaged in boosting the vitality of their village and the well-being of its inhabitants. Just like other communities, Nutashkuan faces challenges related to addictions, school dropouts and suicide. The Société Mamuk de Nutashkuan aims at preventing these behaviours by offering positive outlets through a range of cultural, artistic and outdoor activities on the territory. The NPO's most important projects are Festival Mamuk, which spans 3 days in early September, and a canoe trip down the majestic Nuashkuan River in fall.
