A 100% indigenous universe

Accessible and welcoming, Atikuss offers a true immersion into the heart of the Innu community of Uashat, through its Économusée du Maskisin, boutique hotel, art gallery, and creation workshop. Dive into a multisensory experience by visiting the Économusée, discover the ancestral know-how behind the maskisin (traditional moccasin), and watch artisans at work as they meticulously craft each piece. Visitors can even take part in the making of the iconic Boots of Hope, a powerful symbol of hope and resilience. The boutique hotel welcomes guests into a vibrant hub of living culture, complete with an on-site artisan shop. In 2018, Atikuss creations even adorned the duchesses of the Québec Winter Carnival! Founded by a visionary Innu entrepreneur, Atikuss has received numerous accolades. In 2023, it was named Female Personality of the Year, Business of the Year, and Retailer of the Year in its region. The company has also been honoured with the Outstanding Indigenous Businesswoman Award in Canada by Indigenous Tourism Canada, as well as the Prix Femmes d’affaires du Québec.
