A peaceful space

Nestled on the shores of Lake Kipawa, the Kebaowek First Nation offers a variety of attractions and services that reflect both community life and Anicinabe hospitality. The marina is a must for outdoor enthusiasts: boat launch, boardwalk, swimming area, paddle board and kayak rentals — everything you need to enjoy the lake. Open seasonally, weather permitting. Migizy Gas provides year-round service with a convenience store, a fast food style restaurant, and gas pumps accessible even by snowmobile — a practical stop in any season. For those with a sweet tooth, Katakag Adawewigamig serves up hard and soft serve ice cream, sundaes, milkshakes and floats, from May through the Labour Day long weekend. Summer is also the season for major gatherings: Kipawa Country Fest (August 14, 15 & 16) and the Kebaowek Inaugural Pow Wow (July 25 & 26, 2026) are two events not to be missed. And on the horizon for 2027, the Anishnabi Mikana Cultural Centre will open its doors to celebrate Algonquin Anicinabe culture and language — featuring a grand exhibition hall, a café, a gift shop, a gathering space, and outdoor experiences.
