Wear your identity, reduce your footprint!
Mikuniss Collection is located in the heart of the Ilnu community of Mashteuiatsh. This clothing and fashion accessories design company, specializing in ready-to-wear and material transformation, showcases the artistic and cultural inspirations of designer Valéry Larouche, blending the ingenuity of traditional craftsmanship with today’s innovation.
The brand offers unique pieces created through the expertise of artists and artisans, inspired by the cultural heritage of First Nations and entirely designed and produced in the Lac-Saint-Jean region. It prioritizes the use of natural or low environmental impact raw materials, embracing an approach that respects the land and its resources.
Proud successor to René Robertson Fourrures since 2024, the owner of Mikuniss Collection continues the tradition by maintaining the services and products of this well-established tourism business, which has been part of the community for more than six generations. She is thus helping preserve this important enterprise specializing in the creation of fur mittens, hats, accessories, and coats, while guiding it toward a more contemporary vision.
This initiative is part of a broader commitment to enhancing the tourism experience at the intersection of fashion, art, and craftsmanship. In keeping with this vision, the company is preparing to open its ÉCONOMUSÉE® in fall 2026. This living space will allow visitors to discover the stages of creation, material transformation, and garment production, while immersing themselves in a history and know-how passed down from generation to generation.
Through her proactive leadership and the expertise of her team, Ms. Larouche aims to be a true agent of change, supporting the entrepreneurial journey of artisans within her community and actively contributing to the cultural and tourism vitality of Mashteuiatsh.
