Dive into the heart of Wolastoqey legends!

Rooted in a millennia-old oral tradition that has endured through the centuries, these stories reflect the deep connection between the Wolastoqiyik and their territory. Passed down from generation to generation, they carry a living memory rich in meaning, teachings, and knowledge grounded in time. In a warm and immersive atmosphere, this cultural experience invites you to encounter the Wolastoqiyik Wahsipekuk First Nation, its worldview, and its foundational stories. A pause inspired by the land extends this special moment of sharing and discovery. The cultural evenings take place in the Passereaux sector of Kiskotuk Coastal Park, at the heart of the Sqotek pavilion — meaning “place of the fire” in Wolastoqey Latuwewakon. Designed by a Wolastoqey architect, the structure blends harmoniously into its natural surroundings and highlights a central fire pit, a symbol of gathering and transmission, as well as sculptures created by a community artist, closely tied to the legends being told — linking art, storytelling, and territory. An authentic and immersive experience where fire, voice, and memory come together to offer a unique moment deeply rooted in Wolastoqey culture.
